Application effect of information-motivation-behavior skills model in the education of parents′ intelligent nursing training of very low birth weight infants

Objective To explore the application effect of information-motivation-behavior skills model in the education of parents′ intelligent nursing training of very low birth weight infants. Methods A total of 100 cases of very low birth weight infants and their parents treated in the neonatal intensive care unit of Ganzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from April to September 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group (50 cases) and observation group (50 cases) by random number table method. The parents of the children in the control group received conventional intelligent nursing training and education, while the parents of the children in the observation group received intelligent nursing training and education based on the information motivation behavior skill model.The mastery of intellectual nursing training knowledge, the compliance of intellectual nursing training and the physical,intellectual and neurobehavioral development of very low birth weight infants 6 months after birth were compared between the two groups. Results The total awareness rate of the parents of the observation group was higher than the control group at discharge, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). At 1, 3 and 6 months after birth, the compliance of wisdom nursing training of parents in the observation group was higher than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). At 6 months after birth, the growth rate of body weight, body length and head circumference in the observation group were higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The Gesell score and neonatal behavioral neurological assessment (NBNA) score in the observation group were higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of information motivation behavior skill model to the education of intellectual nursing training for the parents of very low birth weight children can greatly promote the parents to master the knowledge of intellectual nursing training and improve the compliance of intellectual nursing training, which is helpful to promote the physical, intellectual and neural development of children, which is worthy of popularization and application.
