Abstract:Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical-neuroimaging syndrome with a good prognosis in most cases and complete recovery of clinical and imaging abnormalities after treatment. PRES has various etiologies, and most of them are induced by underlying diseases, such as hypertension, renal insufficiency, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), hematological diseases, sepsis, cytotoxic drugs and organ transplantation. At present, autoimmune diseases have been proved to be an important subtype of diseases causing PRES. In order to further improve the understanding of rheumatologists, timely treatment, and im prove the prognosis, this article describes the research progress of autoimmune diseases complicated with reversible posterior encephalopathy syndrome.
