Abstract:Objective To investigate the conrrelation between perceived social support, self-disclosure and sexual function in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia after transurethral resection of the prostate. Methods A total of 88 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and underwent transurethral resection of the prostate in the Department of Urology of the First People′s Hospital of Jiujiang City from September 2020 to February 2022 were prospectively selected. According to the postoperative international index of erectile function (IIEF) of the patients, the patients were divided into mild group (46 cases) and severe group (42 cases). General clinical data, perceived social support scale(PSSS), Berkeley expressivity questionnaire (BEQ), residual urine volume after emptation and the other conditions of the patients were collected, univariate and multivariate logistic were used to analyze the related factors affecting the postoperative sexual function of the patients. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in marital status, smoking history, drinking history, PSSS, BEQ and residual urine volume after emptation between the mild-moderate group and the severe group (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic results indicated that marital status (β=2.432, OR=11.382, 95%CI=1.641-78.924) and residual urine volume (β=0.044, OR=1.045, 95%CI=1.003-1.089) were risk factors for sexual function after transurethral resection of prostate, PSSS (β=-0.163, OR=0.850, 95%CI=0.752-0.959) and BEQ (β=-0.359, OR=0.698, 95%CI=0.528-0.924) were protective factors for sexual function after transurethral resection of prostate (P<0.05). Conclusion No spouse and high residual urine volume are independent risk factors affecting sexual function of patients, while high PSSS and high BEQ are independent protective factors affecting sexual function of patients. In clinical nursing, relative measures should be taken according to the corresponding situation of patients to adjust the physical and mental conditions of patients.
