Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of position management based on infant position assessment tool combined with developmental supportive nursing on premature infants. Methods A total of 60 premature infants treated in Pingxiang People′s Hospital, Jiangxi Province, from January 2021 to February 2022 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into the control group (n=30) and the study group (n=30) by the random number table method. The two groups of premature infants were given routine developmental supportive nursing, and the control group was supported by bird′s nest position while the study group adopted infant position assessment tool to guide the placement of bird′s nest position. The nutritional support status, feeding status, growth and development and clinical outcomes were compared between the two groups of premature infants. Results After intervention, the gastric tube indwelling time, total enteral nutrition time and ventilator use time of premature infants in the study group were all shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the feeding status of premature infants in the study group was better compared to the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence rate of feeding intolerance in the study group after intervention was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no statistical differences in the body weight, body length and head circumference between the two groups of premature infants before intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, the body weight, body length and head circumference of premature infants in the two groups were greater than those at birth, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05), and the body weight, body length and head circumference were greater in the study group than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence rate of complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group after intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of position management based on infant position assessment tool and developmental supportive nursing is beneficial to enhancing the feeding tolerance, promoting the growth and development, and improving the clinical outcomes of premature infants.
