Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of elder role experience combined with case teaching method in the training of new nurses. Methods Twenty-nine new nurses recruited in May 2019 in Liaoning Jinqiu Hospital (Liaoning Geriatric Hospital) were selected as the control group, and 30 new nurses recruited in January 2020 were selected as the observation group. The control group adopted the traditional training method, while the observation group adopted the senile role experience combined with case teaching method in addition to the traditional training method. The assessment scores and comprehensive work ability of the two groups were compared, and the evaluation of the observation group on the training mode of role experience combined with case teaching method was investigated. Results The theoretical scores and skills scores of nurses in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of clinical problem solving ability, nursing safety awareness, team cooperation ability, humanistic care and comprehensive service ability of nurses in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). In the evaluation of the senile role experience combined with case teaching method in the observation group, the highest evaluation was given to stimulating the interest of geriatric nursing work, strengthening nursing safety awareness and cultivating the ability to analyze problems, and 93.3% of the new nurses thought it was "very helpful". Conclusion The application of senile role experience combined with case teaching method in the training of new nurses in geriatric hospitals is a beneficial exploration and plays a role in promoting the development of clinical nursing training in geriatric hospitals.
