Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of drug-assisted Epley technique reduction therapy in patients with benign paroxysmal vertigo (BPPV). Methods A total of 62 patients with benign paroxysmal vertigo in Panyu District Central Hospital from October 2020 to October 2021 were selected as the research object, they were divided into study group (n=31) and control group (n=31) by random sampling method. Both groups were given drug-assisted Epley manipulation reduction therapy, the control group was given routine care, and the research group was given overall care. The scores of hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS) and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), reset success rate, the score of short form 36 questionnaire (SF-36) and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The UCLA and HADS scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group after 1 and 4 weeks of reduction, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total effective rate of reduction between the two groups (P>0.05). The scores of various quality of life dimensions in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion BPPV patients combined overall treatment with Epley can improve the success rate of reduction and improve vertigo symptoms.
