Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of Green′s model-based health education on social avoidance in patients with colostomy. Methods A total of 80 patients with enterostomy admitted to the Department of Oncology, Ji′an Central People′s Hospital from October 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research objects, and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given routine health education, and the patients in the observation group were given the Green′s model-based health education. The social avoidance, stoma self-care ability and the incidence of stoma complications within 3 months after discharge were compared between the two groups. Results Eight weeks after the intervention, the social avoidance and distress scale (SADS) score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Eight weeks after the intervention, the stoma self-care scale-general version (SSCS-GV) score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Within 3 months after discharge, the total incidence of stoma complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Green′s model-based health education can reduce the social avoidance of colostomy patients, improve self-care ability, and reduce the occurrence of complications.
