Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical application effect of floating needle therapy and conventional acupuncture in lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods A total of 80 patients with LDH admitted to Pingxiang Maternal and Child Health Hospital from August 2020 to June 2021 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into control group and experimental group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Control group was treated with conventional acupuncture, experimental group was treated with floating needle. The therapeutic effect, pain relief and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the experimental group was 95.00% (38/40), higher than 80.00% (32/40) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the Oswestry disability index (ODI) scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the ODI score of experimental group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional acupuncture, floating needle therapy can significantly improve the treatment efficiency and relieve pain.
