Objective To explore the effect of evidence-based nursing on the prevention of nausea and vomiting in patients after hepatic arterial chemoembolization. Methods A total of 120 patients with primary liver cancer who underwent transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University from January 2018 to January 2021 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and experimental group, 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine transcatheter arterial chemoembolization nursing intervention, and the experimental group was combined with evidence-based nursing intervention for nausea and vomiting complications on the basis of routine nursing. The incidence of nausea and vomiting and the evaluation of nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of nausea and vomiting in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The duration of nausea and vomiting in the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The evaluation of satisfaction with nursing intervention measures in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based nursing measures for patients undergoing transcatheter arterial chemoembolization can reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting, and improve patients' trust in medical measures, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
