Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of fire dragon-like cupping combined with acupoint application in the treatment of Yang-deficiency induced insomnia. Methods The clinical data of 65 patients with Yang-deficiency type insomnia hospitalized in the Affiliated Hospital of Hu′nan Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2020 to August 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. They were divided into the treatment group (34 cases) and the control group (31 cases) according to different treatment methods. Patients in the control group were treated with Estazolam in oral administration, and the treatment group was treated with fire dragon-like cupping combined with acupoint application. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) score, clinical efficacy, Yang-deficiency constitution score and the incidence of adverse reactions were observed of patients in the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the PSQI score and Yang-deficiency constitution score between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).The PSQI scores and Yang-deficiency constitution scores in the two group after treatment were both lower than those before treatment, and the PSQI score and Yang-deficiency constitution score in the treatment group after treatment were both lower than those in the control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05). The total effectiveness rate in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group after treatment was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of fire dragon-like cupping combined with acupoint application in the treatment of insomnia patients with Yang-deficiency type is better, with little side effects, which is worthy of popularization.
