Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of exercise rehabilitation on nutritional status and fatigue syndrome in patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). Methods A total of 88 patients with maintenance hemodialysis admitted to Affiliated Hospital of Weifang Medical College and Weifang Yidu Central Hospital from June 2019 to October 2020 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into exercise group (n=44) and control group (n=44) according to random number table method. The control group received routine intervention, and the exercise group received exercise rehabilitation during hemodialysis. The clinical indicators (Kt/vurea [Kt/V], hemoglobin [Hb], bicarbonate [HCO3-], serum albumin [Alb]) and constitution-related factors (triceps skinfold thickness [TSF], mid-upper arm circumference [MAC], mid -arm muscle circumference[MAMC], hand gripping strength [HGS], body mass index[BMI], lean tissue mass [LTM], fatigue assessment instrument [FAI] score) of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results There were no significant differences in Kt/V and HCO3- between the two groups before and after intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, Hb and Alb in the exercise group were higher than those in the control group, with statistical significances(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in TSF between two groups before and after intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, MAC, MAMC, HGS, BMI and LTM in the exercise group were higher than those in the control group, while FAI was lower than that in the control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05). Conclusion Exercise rehabilitation can improve the nutritional status of patients and alleviate the symptoms of fatigue syndrome.
