Application effect of comprehensive airway nursing combined with psychological nursing in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with respiratory failure

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of omni-directional airway nursing combined with psychological nursing in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease combined with respiratory failure and its influence on patients′ nursing compliance, tension, anxiety and other negative emotions.Methods A total of 90 patients with COPD complicated with respiratory failure admitted to the First People′s Hospital of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province from April 2020 to October 2021 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the conventional group and the combined group by random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. Patients in the conventional group were given psychological nursing alone, and patients in the combined group were given all-round airway nursing+psychological nursing. Lung ventilatory function indexes (total lung volume[TLC], forced vital capacity [FVC], maximum autonomous air volume [MVV]), Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) score and good nursing compliance rate were compared between the two groups before and after nursing. Results After nursing, TLC, FVA and MVV levels in combined group were higher than those in control group,HAMA and SAS scores were lower than those in control group, and the excellent and good rate of nursing compliance(94.00% [47/50]) was higher than that in control group (75.00% [30/40]), the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive airway nursing+psychological nursing has a positive impact on enhancing pulmonary ventilation function and improving the psychological state of patients with COPD combined with respiratory failure. Patients with higher nursing compliance after the combination of the two nursing programs, this nursing program has a high clinical application value.
