Changes of perceived social support with depressed outpatients under the full-term management model

Abstract:Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of perceived social support ability of outpatients with depression under the full-term management model.Methods From Augest 2017 to December 2018,200 depressed outpatients who were admitted to the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University were selected as the study objects,they were divided into study group and control group according to the random number table method,each with 100 cases.The full-term management model was used in the study group and the natural follow-up mode was used in the control group.Additionally,Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) were also integrated into this investigate at before treatment,6 months of treatment and 1 year of treatment..Results After 6 months and 1 year of treatment,the comprehension of social support ability of patients in the study group was higher than that before treatment,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After 6 months and 1 year of treatment,the patients in the study group had higher ability to perceive social support than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Furthermore,cross hysteresis analysis showed that perceived social support of patients show the variations for the periods,which could predict the change of PHQ-9 one year later.Conclusion The full-term management measurement might significantly improve outpatient ability of perceived social support; it is worthwhile for psychiatrist to promote in outpatient clinic.
