Effect of waist lowering and hips lifting method on improving the quality of external chest compression in the public cardiopulmonary resuscitation training

Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of waist lowering and hips lifting method on improving the quality of external chest compression in the public cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.Methods A total of 120 people who had not received CPR training were recruited in the first aid skills training center of People′s Hospital of Nanhai District in Foshan City from March 1,2019 to June 30,2019 and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group by drawing lots,with 60 cases in each group.The two groups both took part in the CPR theoretical knowledge course of the Red Cross Society of China,and emphasized the three key points of high-quality external chest cardiac compression.The experimental group applied the waist lowering and hips lifting method on the basis of the control group.The reaching rate of chest compression depth,the reaching rate of chest compression rate,the complete chest recoil rate and subjective fatigue scores of the operators were compared between the two groups.Results The reaching rate of chest compression depth and the complete chest recoil rate in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the reaching rate of the compression rate between the two groups (P >0.05).The degree of subjective fatigue in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The waist lowering and hips lifting method can improve the quality of external chest compression in the public CPR training,which is mainly reflected in the improvement of the reaching rate of compression depth,the complete chest recoil rate and the reduction of operators′ fatigue.It is worth of popularizing in public CPR training.
