Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Ashi acupoint meridian massage combined with anesthesia in the treatment of frozen shoulder. Methods A total of 60 patients with frozen shoulder who came to Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to February 2020 were selected as study subjects and divided into two groups by random number table method,30 cases in each group. In the control group, patients were given manual release under simple anesthesia, and in the observation group, patients were given manual release under anesthesia combined with Ashi acupoint meridian massage.Clinical efficacy, pain rating index (PRI) total score, visual analogue scale (VAS) score, and shoulder range of motion were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 93.3%,higher than 70.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment, the total PRI and VAS scores of the two groups decreased, and the two scores of the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After the treatment, the shoulder joint activity increased in both groups, and the observation group′s uplift and abduction activities were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Ashi acupoint meridian massage combined with anesthesia has a significant effect on frozen shoulder, which can reduce pain, increase the range of shoulder joint movement, and improve the quality of life.It is worthy of certain clinical promotion.
