Objective To explore the application effect of "6S" combined with visual management method in reducing unqualified blood samples in outpatient blood collection room.Methods Since June 2018,the "6S" combined with visual management method was carried out in the blood collection room of the outpatient department of the hospital.The rates and causes of unqualified blood samples in the outpatient department before (May 2018) and after (December 2018) the implementation of the "6S" combined with visual management method were compared.Results After the implementation of "6S" combined with visual management method,the rate of unqualified blood samples in December 2018 (0.0136%) was lower than that in May 2018 (0.0587%),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The nurse factor in the unqualified blood samples in December 2018 (1 cases) was less than that in May 2018 (10 cases),the factor of coding and sticking nurse attendant in December 2018 (9 cases) was less than that in May 2018 (32 cases),the factor of blood feeder in December 2018 (4 cases) was less than that in May 2018 (19 cases).Conclusion The "6S" combined with visual management method is helpful to reduce the unqualified blood samples in the blood collection room,alleviate the pain of patients,improve the working efficiency of the staff in the blood collection room,improve the nursing quality and nursing management level.
