Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of dual frequency index (BIS) monitoring on postoperative delirium in elderly patients undergoing general anesthesia laparoscopic surgery. Methods A total of 80 patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery in the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from March 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the control group (40 cases) and the study group (40 cases). The control group used the anesthesiologist′s clinical experience medication method, and the research group used the BIS monitoring method. The intraoperative conditions, hemodynamic conditions at different time points, and the incidence of postoperative delirium were compared between the two groups. Results The total amount of Propofol used in the study group and the amount of Propofol induction during the operation were less than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the recovery time and the time of leaving the room in the study group were shorter than those of the control group, the differences showed statistical significance (P<0.05); the average pulse pressure and heart rate of the study group at different time points were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); and at 1 d after operation, the incidence of delirium in the study group was lower than in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of delirium at 2,3,and 4 d after the operation between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion The application of BIS monitoring anesthesia in elderly laparoscopic surgery can reduce the use of Propofol, shorten the recovery and recovery time of patients, avoid hemodynamic drastic fluctuations, reduce the incidence of postoperative delirium, and make the application of anesthesia safer.
