Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) assisted emotional management on quality of life, anxiety and depression in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).Methods A total of 155 patients with IBD admitted to our hospital from March 2018 to March 2019 were selected as the research objects by convenient sampling method and randomly divided into the control group (78 cases) and the observation group (77 cases) by coin toss method. The control group was given routine education, and the observation group was instructed to learn MBSR assisted emotional management to deal with negative emotions on the basis of the control group. The scores of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),self-rating depression scale (SDS) and IBD questionnaire (IBDQ) were compared between the two groups at admission and 24 weeks after discharge. Results There were no statistically significant differences in SAS,SDS and IBDQ scores between the two groups at admission (P>0.05).After 24 weeks of discharge, the SAS,SDS scores of the observation group were higher than those at admission, the IBDQ score was lower than that at admission, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After 24 weeks of discharge, the SAS,SDS scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the IBDQ score was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The MBSR assisted emotional management can improve the mental health of patients with IBD and improve their quality of life.
