Clinical effect of Shengbai Formula Granules on prevention of leukopenia in breast cancer patients after chemotherapy

Abstract：Objective To analyze the effect of Shengbai Formula Granules on prevention of leukopenia in breast cancer patients after chemotherapy. Methods From March 2018 to March 2020, forty breast cancer chemotherapy patients admitted to our hospital were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into research group and control group according to the random number table method, 20 cases in each group. The study group was treated with Shengbai Formula Granules one week before chemotherapy, and Recombinant Human Granulocyte Stimulating Factor Injection was given according to the condition of leukocyte suppression; the control group was treated with Recombinant Human Granulocyte Stimulating Factor Injection according to the condition of leukocyte suppression. The white blood cell count, clinical effective rate, usage rate of recombinant human granulocyte stimulating factor injection and incidence of adverse reactions were compared and analyzed. Results There was no significant difference in leukocyte count between the two groups on the 7th day of one chemotherapy course (P＞0.05); the leukocyte count of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group on the 14th and 20th day (P＜0.05). After one course of chemotherapy, the total clinical effective rate of leukopenia in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). The usage rate and adverse reaction rate of recombinant human granulocyte stimulating factor injection in the control group were higher than those in the study group (P ＜0.05). Conclusion Shengbai Formula granules can help improve the white blood cell count of patients with breast cancer chemotherapy, prevent and control leukopenia, reduce the use of Recombinant Human Granulocyte Stimulating Factor Injection, and alleviate adverse reactions during chemotherapy. It is suitable for clinical application and promotion.
