Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of simple smoking cessation intervention nursing on long-term smoking cessation effect in patients with cardiovascular disease. Methods A total of 240 smoking patients with cardiovascular disease who were treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from June 2017 to June 2018 were selected and divided into the control group and observation group according to the random number table method, 120 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing without smoking cessation intervention and the observation group was given simple smoking cessation intervention nursing for every patient. A one-year follow-up was conducted to investigate the long-term effect of smoking cessation and re-hospitalization of the patients. Results The successful smoking cessation rates of patients in the observation group at 1, 6 and 12 months after discharge were 74.17%,66.67% and 56.67%,respectively, which were higher than those in the control group at 34.17%, 31.67% and 25.00%,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The relapse rates of patients in both groups were the highest one month after discharge, and no significant difference in the relapse rate of patients who successfully quitted smoking within one month was observed between the two groups (P>0.05). The re-hospitalization rate due to cardiovascular disease in the observation group within 1 year was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Simple smoking cessation intervention nursing can effectively promote long-term smoking cessation of patients with cardiovascular diseases, and can reduce the probability of patients being re-hospitalized due to cardiovascular diseases. However, as time goes on, the smoking cessation rate of patients gradually declines, and further intervention is needed for the relapse of patients.
