Objective To investigate the influence of Metformin combined with acupuncture on glucolipid metabolism and adipokines in obese polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Methods A total of 90 patients with obese PCOS who admitted in our hospital from February 2018 to February 2019 were selected as the research subjects. All selected cases were divided into group A(30 cases),group B(30 cases)and group C(30 cases)according to random number table method.Group A was treated with Metformin, group B was treated with acupuncture, and group C was treated with Metformin combined with acupuncture. The levels of sex hormones, glucolipid metabolism indexes, adipokines levels and pregnancy rates were compared among the three groups. Results After treatment, the levels of triglyceride (TG), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and testosterone (T) in group C were lower than those in group A and group B, and the level of estradiol (E2) in group C after treatment was higher than that in group A and group B, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the triglyceride (TG), fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in group C were lower than those in group A and group B, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the body mass index (BMI) and waist-hip ratio in group C were lower than those in group A and group B, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The pregnancy rate of group C was higher than that of group A and group B, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Metformin combined with acupuncture in the treatment of obese PCOS patients can decrease BMI, improve the level of insulin and glucolipid metabolism, regulate the levels of sex hormones, and promote the pregnancy.
