Objective To explore the application of high quality nursing in the nursing of elderly cataract. Methods From February 2017 to February 2019, 255 patients with senile cataract were selected and divided into control group（n=127） and observation group （n=128） by touch the ball randomly. The control group was given routine nursing，and the observation group was given high quality nursing. The disease health knowledge，anxiety，vision，hospitalization time and total incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results The qualified rate of disease health knowledge in the observation group was 96.1%，which was higher than that in the control group （78.7%），the Zung self-rating anxiety scale （SAS） score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group，the postoperative visual acuity was higher than that in the control group，and the hospitalization time was shorter than that in the control group，the differences were statistically significant （P<0.05）. The total incidence of adverse events in the observation group was 3.1%, lower than that in the control group （16.5%），the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）. Conclusion The application effect of high quality nursing in elderly cataract nursing is remarkable and can be popularized.
