Abstract:Objective To explore the application of project management in reducing the infection rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae in premature infants, so as to reduce the incidence of Klebsiella pneumoniae infection in premature infants. Methods A total of 119 premature infants who received ventilator assisted respiratory therapy in Department of Neonatology of Yue Bei People′s Hospital from April to October 2015 were selected as study subjects. According to the implementation of project management, they were divided into the intervention group (58 cases) and the control group(61 cases). The control group was before the implementation of project management, and the intervention group was after the implementation of project management. The positive rate and the infection rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae in premature infants in the two groups were compared. Results The positive rate and infection rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The unqualified rate in the implementation of endotracheal suction, sputum suction bottle and sputum washing fluid replacement, hand hygiene management, oral care, instrument disinfection, and children′s posture management of the intervention group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Duration of ventilator treatment and hospitalization of the intervention group were shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Project management can reduce those the nosocomial infection rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae in the quality management of premature infants and provide a new operation mode for nursing quality managers.
