Effect of Qixia Zhihuang Decoction in the treatment of chronic renal failure and its influence on serum homocysteine and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Qixia Zhihuang Decoction in the treatment of chronic renal failure and its influence on serum homocysteine(Hcy)and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels. Methods A total of 92 patients with chronic renal failure who were admitted to our hospital from June 2017 to June 2019 were selected as research objects. They were divided into the observation group (46 cases) and the control group (46 cases) according to the random number table method.Both groups received conventional treatment.The control group was treated with Benazepril and Losartan on the basis of conventional regimen.The observation group was treated with Qixia Zhihuang Decoction on the treatment regimen of the control group.The serum Hcy and hs-CRP levels,renal function indexes before and after treatment and the total incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results The serum Hcy and hs-CRP levels of patients after treatment in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the above indexes of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The serum creatinine (SCr) and urea nitrogen (BUN) of patients after treatment in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the above indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment between the two groups was not statistically significant (P＞0.05). Conclusion Qixia Zhihuang Decoction has a good effect in the clinical treatment of patients with chronic renal failure, it can reduce their serum Hcy and hs-CRP levels, improve renal function, and does not significantly increase the incidence of adverse reactions, and has good safety.
