Abstract:Objective To study the effect of spontaneous exertion in the lateral position on the second stage of labor and delivery outcomes in primiparous women with epidural analgesia. Methods A total of 200 primiparas from February 2019 to February 2020 in our hospital were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, 100 cases in each group. In the control group, supine position used to guide breath holding and force extension, the observation group used spontaneous exertion in the lateral position, the second stage of labor, exertion time, postpartum hemorrhage, delivery outcome, and analgesia satisfaction of the second stage of labor between the two groups were compared. Results The second labor time and exertion time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the postpartum hemorrhage in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The delivery mode of the observation group was better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The analgesia satisfaction in the second stage of the observation group was 98.0%, which was higher than that of the control groups for 87.0%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of spontaneous force in the lateral position during the epidural analgesia of primiparous women can shorten the second labor time and exertion time, reduce the amount of postpartum hemorrhage, and increase the natural labor rate and satisfaction with analgesia in the second labor. The effect is excellent.
