Abstract:Objective To explore the application of evidence-based nursing in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM).Methods A total of 92 elderly patients with T2DM admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to September 2019 were selected as the research objects.According to the random ball-touch method, they were divided into the control group (n=46)and the observation group (n=46).The control group adopted the conventional nursing method, while the observation group adopted the evidence-based nursing method.Blood glucose changes, total complication rate and total compliance were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose before nursing between the two groups(P>0.05).The fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose of the observation group after nursing were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the blood glucose levels in the observation group after nursing were lower than those before nursing, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total complication rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the total compliance of patients in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In elderly patients with T2DM evidence-based care can effectively control fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose levels. It can also reduce complications and improve nursing compliance, which has clinical application value.
