Value of ultrasound elastography in differential diagnosis of TI-RADS4 thyroid nodules |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the application value of ultrasound elastography in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant TI-RADS4 thyroid nodules.Methods A total of 93 patients(108 thyroid TI-RADS4 nodules)who were performed thyroid ultrasound examination in the People′s Hospital of Liaoning Province from October 2017 to March 2020 were selected as the research subjects.The pathological diagnosis was taken as the golden standard.The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of single application of TIRADS,ultrasonic elastography and combined application of the two for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS4 nodules were compared,and ROC curves were constructed to evaluate the value of each diagnostic method.Results The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of single application of ultrasonic elastography to diagnose thyroid nodule were 80.88%,75.00%,78.70%,84.61% and 69.77%,respectively.The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of TI-RADS diagnostic system were 77.94%,55.00%,74.65%,59.46% and 69.44%,respectively.The efficacy of TI-RADS classification combined with ultrasound elastography in diagnosis of thyroid nodules was higher than that of the two applications alone.Conclusion TI-RADS combined with ultrasound elastography has a high value in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS4 nodules.
