Effect of project management and exercise management mode in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of project management and exercise management mode in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods A total of 70 elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease admitted to Loudi Central Hospital from January 2019 to March 2020 were selected as the research objects. According to random number table method, they were divided into control group and research group, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine management mode, and the research group was treated with project management mode on that basis. Respiratory function and exercise tolerance were compared between the two groups.Results Before intervention,there were no significant differences in forced vital capacity(FVC),vital capacity (VC), peak expiratory flow (PEF), maximal mid-expiratory flow curve (MMEF), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1)and FEV1/FVC levels between the two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, the levels of FVC, VC, PEF, MMEF, FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were all higher than those before intervention, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the levels of FVC, VC, PEF, MMEF, FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in the research group were all higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before intervention,there were no significant differences in 6 min walking distance (6MWD), VO2 Max and exercise time when reaching anaerobic threshold (AT) between the two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, 6MWD and VO2 Max in the two groups were higher than those before intervention, exercise time to AT in the two groups was longer than that before intervention, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); after intervention, 6MWD, VO2 Max in the research group were higher than those in the control group, exercise time to AT in the research group was longer than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of project management and exercise management mode in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can effectively improve exercise tolerance and respiratory function.
