Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of modified indwelling needle fixation method in pediatric patients. Methods A total of 100 children hospitalized in the Department of Pediatrics, the Second People′s Hospital of Jingdezhen from December 2018 to December 2019 were selected as the research subjects.According to the order of admission method, the children were equally divided into experimental group and control group, with 50 cases in each group. The pain degree, family satisfaction, indwelling time of indwelling needle, indwelling needle cose and complications of the two methods were compared. Results The incidence of accidental catheter removal, drug solution extravasation and pressure injury in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The indwelling time of indwelling needle in experimental group was longer than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The scores of visual analogue scale (VAS)and nursing satisfaction scale (SNCS) in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The in dwelling needle cost of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion This study improved needle fixed method has satisfactory effect in pediatric clinic, compared with the traditional fixed method. The improved fixation method can reduce the incidence of accidental damage to take off the tube and pressure, etc.Plays an important role in clinical intervention,to reduce the pain of children take, ensures adherence to children,is a scientific and effective means of fixed, and has clinical value.
