Abstract Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is a common developmental deformity of lower extremities in pediatrics. Early clinical manifestations are not obvious and easy to be misdiagnosed. With the progress of the disease,DDH is liable to cause disability in children and affect their physical and mental health. At present, mainly through surgical treatment for older children, through clinical imaging examination to fully understand the pathological characteristics of children′s lesions and improve the surgical treatment effect, so imaging technology requirements are high.As a unique imaging technique for cartilage tissue, bone tissue and surrounding soft tissues, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has obvious functional and molecular imaging effects. At the same time, similar to CT, MRI can also clearly display the specific shape of acetabulum and femoral head by three-dimensional imaging, indicating the relationship between the head and the acetabulum. Therefore, in recent years, the clinical application and related research of MRI in DDH have been extensively carried out, and the purpose of this study is to explore the application effect of MRI imaging in DDH disease examination.
