Professional attitude and influencing factors of sharp injury occurrence among nursing interns |

Abstract Objective To understand the professional attitude of nursing interns and the related factors of sharp injury,and to provide basis for formulating effective prevention and intervention measures.Methods Convenient sampling method was used,and the demographic data and sharp injuries were made into questionnaires.A total of 217 nursing interns accepted by Fenyang College of Shanxi Medical University from June 2017 to June 2018 were investigated retrospectively with Nurse professional attitude scale.Results The average score of nursing interns′professional attitude was(2.17±0.76)points.Univariate analysis reaults showed that there were no significant difference in the incidences of sharp injury among nursing interns of different sex,age (≥20 years old,< 20 years old)and places of origin(cities,towns and rural areas)(P>0.05).The incidence of sharp injury among specialty nursing interns was higher than that of undergraduate nursing students(P<0.05);the incidence of sharp injury among family volunteer and dispensing nursing interns were higher than those of voluntary applicants(P<0.05);the incidence of sharp injury among extroverted nursing interns was higher than that of introverted nursing interns (P<0.05).The incidence of sharp injury in nursing interns with occupational attitude score<4.5 points was higher than that with occupational attitude score≥4.5 points(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis results showed that education level,volunteer status,nursing students′personality and professional attitude were the significant influencing factors(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing interns have lower occupational attitude,higher risk of occupational exposure and higher incidence of sharp injury,and it is necessary to strengthen training on sharp injury prevention,strengthen psychological intervention and rebuild professional confidence.
