Abstract ObjectiveTo explore efficacy of trans-theoretical model(TTM)heath education on blood glucose level and health behavior in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods200 patients with type 2 diabetes in our hospital from January 2014 to December 2014 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 100 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were received routine health education, while patients in the observation group were received TTM heath education on the basis of routine health education. Before and after intervention, the levels of FBG,2 hPBG,HbA1c and health behavior were compared between two groups.ResultsBefore intervention, there were no significantly different among the levels of FBG,2 hPBG,HbA1c in two groups(P>0.05);after intervention, the levels of FBG, 2 hPBG,HbA1c in two groups were all decreased, and compared with those before intervention, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).And those in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before intervention, there were no significantly different among the scores of healthy diet, regular exercise, blood glucose monitoring, coping, drug compliance and risk factor management in two groups(P>0.05); after intervention, the scores of indexes in two groups were all increased, and compared with those before intervention, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).And those in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionTTM health education is superior to the traditional health education. It can significantly improve the health behavior and reduce the levels of blood glucose of patients with type 2 diabetes.
