Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of video surveillance on the quality of nursing management in psychiatric department.Methods From June 2016 to May 2017,60 nurses from 4 wards with video surveillance installed in the Psychiatric Department of Ji′an Third People′s Hospital were selected as the observation group,and 60 nurses from 4 wards with no video surveillance installed from June 2015 to May 2016 were selected as the control group.The irregularities of the two groups at work were compared.The self-made psychiatric nursing work and psychological stress questionnaire,nursing job satisfaction questionnaire were used to assess the psychological status of nurses,adopting stress management coping strategies and job satisfaction in the two groups,and the occurrence of adverse events of patients during this period was recorded.Results The proportion of irregularities of nurses at work in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse events in the observation group was 5.93%,which was lower than 24.06% in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After adopting stress management and various coping strategies,the nurses′ work and psychological stress in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the nursing job satisfaction was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of video surveillance can standardize nurses′ behavior,reduce the incidence of adverse events,improve the level of nursing management,and improve the quality of nursing safety management.Adopting active stress management and coping strategies can relieve nurses′ work and psychological stress,and improve nurses′satisfaction with their work.
