Application effect of compound neutralization eluent in monitoring microorganism on high frequency contact surface in surgical ward under novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak situation

Abstract:Objective To investigate application effect of compound neutralization eluent in monitoring microorganism on high frequency contact surface in surgical ward under novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19)outbreak situation.Methods A total of 300 microbiological specimens were selected from the high-frequency contact tables(dressing room table,door handle,computer keyboard,elevator keys and landline telephone)in the surgical ward of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical College from June to November 2020,and divided into observation group(n=150)and control group(n=150)according to the type of eluent.Compound neutralization eluent was used in the observation group and normal saline eluent was used in the control group.The over-standard rate of total number of colonies and the satisfaction of the staff to the effect of eluent were compared between the two groups.Results The over-standard rate of total contact surface colonies in observation group was 20.0%,which was higher than that in control group(8.0%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of the observation group was 93.3%,which was higher than that of the control group(66.7%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the context of COVID-19 epidemic,the application effect of compound neutralization eluent in the monitoring of high-frequency contact surface microorganisms in surgical ward was better than that of conventional saline eluent,which could improve the detection rate of microorganisms exceeding the standard and facilitate the culture of residual microorganisms after disinfection.
