Research progress of S100A9 and MMP-9 protein in digestive system malignant tumors

Abstract:Calcium-binding proteins S100A9 is one of the important members of the S100 protein family, and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) is one of the most widely studied matrix metalloproteinases, which play an important role in many biological processes.Recent research suggest that S100A9 and MMP-9 play a key role in the progression of digestive system malignant tumors, and knockdown of S100A9 in cancer cells could lead to decrease the expression of MMP-9.This article will review the research progress of S100A9 and MMP-9 protein in digestive system malignant tumors.
