Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of cone beam computer tomography(CBCT)in the morphological difference of alveolar bone in lower incisors of patients with Class Ⅱ and Class Ⅲ high angle malocclusion. Methods From January 2018 to March 2019,80 patients with Class Ⅱ and Class Ⅲ high angle malocclusion treated in the Department of Stomatology in Taishan People′s Hospital were selected as the subjects. The height and thickness of alveolar bone in the lower incisor area of two kinds of high angle malocclusion patients were measured. Results There were no significant differences in alveolar bone height between Class Ⅱ and Class Ⅲ high angle malocclusion patients(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in the thickness of 2,4,6mm under CEJbetween the Class Ⅱ and Class Ⅲ high angle malocclusion patients(P>0.05).The thickness of alveolar bone at2,4,6mm under the lingual CEJand at the root tip of the lingual side of the patients with skeletal Class Ⅲ was smaller than that of the patients with skeletal Class Ⅱ,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The alveolar bone thickness in the lateral apical area of the lower incisor in the patients with Class Ⅲ high angle malocclusion is thinner and narrow than that in the patients with Class Ⅱ high angle malocclusion.Special attention should be paid to the control of torque when moving the lip and tongue of the anterior teeth in order to prevent the occurrence of root resorption, bone fenestration, bone cracking and so on.
